ufc is faker than pro wrestling
at least pro wrestling admits it is entertainment and not a sport. when you try to pass off something like this as legitimate combat, it's pathetic. in case you didn't notice, they were talking to each other through the entire fight. the blow that knocked couture down was weak. i've seen a lot stiffer shots in japanese pro wrestling. there's a reason such a weak blow knocked him down. it was supposed be a hard punch, but he was anticipating it and fell too soon. mma fans are suckers for forking out $50 for a 10 minute staged fight that's nowhere near as entertaining as a $10 Ring of Honor PPV. www.rohwrestling.com

just cause a ""sport"" is ""full contact"" doesn't mean it's ""real"". if there's money involved, then somebody, somewhere has their hands in the outcome. and i don't just mean ufc, any sport really. boxing is a good example. fighters getting paid to take the fall. mma's no different. ufc especially, being that it's so commercialized now. they need their top fighters to be marketable to draw a larger audience. but hey, if you enjoy it, don't stop watching just cause it's fake.

You have to admit it was a nice fight,to dominate Captain America like that was hugh, the year off hurt Randy. But Brock is just tooooo hugh....Imagine him fighting Noriega, who always seems to get beat up in his fights...If he tries that strategy with Brock It will be lights out for him as well. And if it were against Mir, well we all know that was a lame call to stand them up, he was dominated in that position. But hopefully in the end we can see him against Fedor, and see how great he really is against a beast like Lesnar...

Ok, did any of you that are saying the fight was staged watch the video at 5:23 on the video, or 4:50 of the second round, when randy got caught his legs and body straitened EXACTLY like they did after Brock caught him with the knee at 7:58 in the video, or around 2:15 in the second round. Randy's shoulders did the EXACT same move, it just wasn't caught by the announcers this time. Randy was hurt when he got clipped one more time it was too much. You get clipped by a hambone when you are a little woozy you are down.

Brock winning was the best outcome for the UFC from a business point of view. Randy is already a legend so he didnt NEED to win. But a win does help establish Brock and he still relatively young. If the UFC gets behind him they can promote him as a 'face' of the company for years to come.

THE FIGHT WAS SET UP
That fight was totaly set up, firstly there was something not quite right about the movement of both fighters. I fight semi pro in the UK and know what a fight looks like and why people move the way they move. It did look like they were talking to each other to! I watched that fight and laughed to myself thinking, 'could this be staged' then I come online and see the forums are alight with the 'staged fight' topic. This fight was worth millions to he UFC. Randy is the biggest crowd pleaser they have got. I am a Randy fan but not a bitter one. I have seen him loose in the past and still supported but this fight just didnt add up.

Secondly, if mma is fake, why would the UFC have their biggest draw in Chuck Liddell lose 3 out of his last 4? Having Liddell vs Griffin would be a bigger draw than Evans vs Griffin, so if UFC is fake, shouldn't have Chuck won that fight? As for ROH, Adam Pearce is taking the company away from the work rate based style the company made it's name on, and more towards entertainment based, WWE style wrestling. ROH has said this multiple times recently. The ROH the hardcore fans loved is dying.

That punch didnt even connect.Iwatched it 10 times frame by frame and slow motion.If this fight wasnt staged then Randy took a dive. I have long been a Couture fan and will remain so, but I think Brock represents a new breed of MMA fighter. When you can combine the raw power and lethal speed that brock posseses with a well rounded arsenal that comes with experience he will be in a class of his own. In fact, he already is. I believe he has reset the bar for the sport and is the first of the new breed of super MMA fighters to come.

Fedor would humiliate Lesnar....no contest. Although immensely powerful, Brock has nowhere near the skill to handle who most consider the most skilled MMA fighter in the world. If Fedor did not knock Lesnar out quickly, he would submit him in the first round. I've watched MMA from the beginning, and have seen no badder man on the planet than Fedor...period. I'm so hoping he signs a contract to fight in the States...he'll dominate like no other, even Silva.

I still admire Randy C. for his ability to hold a fight like that inspite of the advantage that his opponent had.....Its purely technique that made him last....he could have won that fight if he was not caught by a punch. Brock is one hell of an athlete, he deserves to be a champion, yet alot to learn... why? his ground fight is not that effective, his technique is limited or the timing of execution are poor....he is only strong and big, but i dont think he could hold the crown that long.

I used to box and nobody has watched more boxing than me and that looked fake as hell. Those were grazing punches at best -if they even landed. Only a fool would believe Couture would go down from a pitter-pat punch like that if it were real. It's all about making money with guys like Dana White so watch for the Randy Couture vs Brock Lesner trilogy -each pay-per-view bigger than the last. Maybe the rubber match will be real but that'd be the only one.

I've sat for the past few minutes and read these accusations, and I've been very, very amused. From all these ""fighters"" that claim to do this and that semi-pro, yadda yadda - doubted. Anyone can talk that behind a keyboard. Why don't we start throwing credentials out there? Mario Yamasaki has a school about 45 minutes from where I live - I've competed with several of his students. Crazy 88 in Columbia, Maryland is about 20 minutes from my apartment, and one of my training partners is one of Julian's best students. My jiujitsu instructor recently achieved his brown belt from Carlos Gracie, Mr. Fred Raimie, and I've also trained and competed with and for ""Papa John"" Gordon in Alexandria, Virginia. Now... I have my credentials out there. These boxers that talk shit about ""I've seen harder hits, blah blah""... You guys fight with 12 and 16 ounce gloves. Try taking half the hits you do with your opponent wearing a 4 ounce glove (that's the standard weight of an MMA glove, for those of you who are obviously uneducated). The difference in padding is devastating. It doesn't take much to ring your bell. After the first 5 minutes, regardless of your conditioning, you're pretty winded. At that size... 275 pounds... swinging around that much weight in just your arms is going to tire you out. So, yeah. At the 10 minute mark, after fighting a behemoth like Brock Lesnar, you're going to get tired. Even if he couldn't swing his huge arms that hard after that much exertion, the inertia would still make your ears ring pretty solid. Do a little research and get some experience before you start claiming something is staged. Dana White doesn't have to call fights one way or another. He took this enterprise from a $275k venture into a multi-billion dollar culture - almost completely by himself. He doesn't have to pay fighters to drop. Now... I'm not saying Couture should have lost the way he did. He has YEARS of experience over Brock Lesnar, and frankly, I'm disappointed in the results. It goes to say that if you're going to take a break, you should probably keep training in the process. But yes, the time of Captain America has passed. Let's see what these new kids can do.

For the weight and age disadvantage present, Couture should be proud! Grappling with a man that size is brutal enough, then throw the age difference in there, and it doesnt take much of a shot to put you down, ESPECIALLY after getting rocked a few times. GREAT FIGHT! sorry to see couture loose, but great fight anyway!

ok first off Andre Arlovski would not beat lesner, he is good but not that good. i agree lesner got that title shot too easy. he diddent have enough fights b4 it to earn it. and i agree that Mr. white made that fight because of the money that would be made. i mean look at how many people are talking about it. i think that the argueing should stop. it was a real fight not staged. and if you like WWE thats fine and good and if you like UFC then thats fine and good but dont say one is better than the other. Without a doubt Fedor is more well rounded and experienced fighter, but that doesn't take away from the fact brock lesnar fights at 275 and can move at the speed he does. not to mention his more then noteable wrestling accomplishments(not WWE). Brock Lesnar is not the fluke he's mad out to be.

ok, here is how i know it was not fake. when couture went down before the fight he was not falling he was weaving. His legs did not give out until after the blow. learn some physics doubters. The punch looked slow cuz Lesnars arm is 2X the size of couture's. So by contrast ya it looked slow but also had way more power and momentum behind it. And of top of that it was a glancing blow which means that power behind the punch hit a very small concentrated spot, it this case the nerves behind the ear. Now think before anyone throws accusations. UFC makes millions cuz they take pride in keeping it real.

all sports have an entertainment quality to them but as far as discerning whether it be true or fake there is no way to be sure bout to bout but why not enjoy the performance the disbeliever even brings promotional services to the ufc by way of controversy but just a piece of advice like many have said before lace up and then give your opinion

Randy is so much more skilled then lesnir. lesnir is a big gay gorilla with little skill, couture would win that fight 9 times out of 10. Even with the size, age, and strength advantage randy was wining the fight, he got caught.
